Get Ready for a Jazz InFusion this evening for tonight's Groove on Grove. Regardless of the weather, you can check out The Flying South Latin Jazz open up today's showcase at 6 pm and then play for a second time @ Port-o Lounge about 8:45. Yellow Frog Soul Sessions who perform at the Lamp Post on Wednesday Nights play groove on grove at 7:30 pm. Thursday Night come out for a PAY TO PLAY fundraiser at Lucky 7's. We are raising funds for the Liberty Humane Center , and will be selling $5* raffle tickets to the June 9th PIT STOP fundraiser at Pole Position the tickets value at $65 and include two free races plus food and soft drinks, additionally you can just buy them out right. As for PAY TO PLAY: Here's how it works for

$3 I play any song (or the best 5 minutes of it)
$5 I turn off any song early because your ears are going to fall off
$7 I replay your song because someone in the bar has bad taste
*if you purchase a $5 raffle ticket you automatically get a song request
winners of the raffle will be chosen next week before the SUNDAY JUNE 9th Fundraiser

On Saturday It's a Double Fest Fest with Not Yo Mama's Parks and Crafts at Van Vorst Park and June-A-Palooza an LCCS fundraiser at Hamilton Square. Both start at around noon. I'll be at June-A-Palooza hosting some up and coming bands [Kadian Quartette, and DJing. Afterwards, I'm heading over to Luckys for a double bill of driving psyche rock with Risk Relay and Cloned Moor afterwards wonder twins DJ Stay Golden Pony Boy and Mr. Blonde spin it up.

On Sunday, JC Biker's roll through all of town as Part of BikeJC's 4th annual ward tour . Those wishing to participate can pre-register here. The event is FREE and starts and ends at Exchange Place. The After Party has live music by They Live, Sandra Small and the Smallworld Band, Overlake, Universal Rebel, and Hipstacratic. The White Star is serving cold cold ones and there is photo-booth finish line, a bike rack design competitions, and plenty of all day fun.

17 Year Cicada - New Works by Kayt Hester

SAT 08/24 @ 9pm Port-o- Lounge he 17 Year Cicada – New Art Work by Kayt Hester – opens August 24th at Port- O Lounge, one of the handful of downtown Jersey City restaurants/art galleries that, by presenting to new audiences, up & coming and established local artists, are transforming the New York Metropolitan area Art World. As the title of the exhibition suggests, this edition of the yearly Hester Summer Showcase coalesces around the theme of Magicada Cicadas – the species of cicadas that only appear every 17 years. Her more recent work also expands her use of texture and color. Augmenting her black masking tape are new, extraordinary details made of brightly colored, metallic tape. She also has incorporated embroidery to canvases, essentially embedding 21st century needlepoint within her tape illustrations.

Who: Everyone, and anyone you want to bring, all are welcome. How: Remember to bring a side dish or homemade dessert Bonus!: Get your muscles primed for the Annual Wishbone Grudge Match! The 21st Pagan Thanksgiving Feast is upon us and from every nook and cranny the weird and wonderful will gather for an evening of full throated frivolity! We will gorge and devour! 58 Gallery Reunion Show

Opening F 6 to 9 pm Mary Benson Galleryey everybody, there once was this place called 58 gallery in dtjc showed some of the best art around by some of the best emerging artist around, it coupled the shows with sounds and visuals "that would create an atmosphere unlike any in nyc" holland cotter ny times...and it did a bunch of other things to strengthen the artist community between 2002-2012. it closed in 2012. some of the pioneers and trendsetters of that time are gathering for the start of this amazing series of shows. stay tuned for more info. www.fifty8.com

The Attic Ensemble Presents

Nov 7 to 18h @ Barrow Mansion | August, 1949. A fascinatingly realistic picture of routine cases brought into a bustling metropolitan police station in the course of an evening. Out of the welter of human misery, vice and foolishness there emerges the moving case of a decent young man who has stolen money from his employer; a hardened criminal dragging his young friend down with him; a lawless NJ "gardener" with a corrupt lawyer; and others. In the throes of the tumult is Detective McLeod -- a man whose black & white vision of justice will be challenged by the woman he loves most: his wife. A cast of 22 men and women will bring this drama of truth and consequences to life on the stage.
