I'm Not afraid of any Ghost of Uncle Joe's | Looking Spooking Good

I came home from Canada to find that Don Chris from Rolan's [the Keyhole] had left this world. In his honor, this Thursday's THE CICLO: Celebration Commemoration Inspiration will pay tribute to a great man along with some JC Greats.

Okay. No Hurricanes - No Snow set for this weekend's Ghost of Uncle Joe's Fundraiser this Saturday. Cemetery gates open at 2 pm with a full line up of great music. If you are in need of some costuming, check out Another Man's Treasure Vintage for some throw back styles. If you want to do it on your own, break out your glue gun and see if you can craft something from Instructables. Make it nice, and you and your date may be eating at Thirty Acres restaurant, or catching a performance of 4th Annual YOUR MOVE Dance Festival at Art House Productions on us/them, or go bad ass,  and Jersey City Tattoo will ink forever on you [please refrain from choosing the infinity sign though]

All of the WFMU DJ will be "newbies" for this show with a abbreviated roster of the Hoof and Mouth Slimfonia.  Help them raise money to build a 100 seat performance space. Things start at 2:22 with Elvis Costello and the attraction performing Live at Hollywood High. Then They Live will sound Rancid with Vic Ruggiero  from the Slacker on the Keyboards. Here's the full schedule:

Au Reviore Jersey City & The Ghost of Uncle Joe's 10/26

Bon Jour from Canada my friends, with an almost economic doom facing America, I've hitched a ride with The Front Bottoms for my first stint as a merch girl/ sound guy. During my conditional absence, I have left Running Fun to Neil McAneny, Ladies Night [this Thursday] to Steff Kautzmann aka DJ Street Justice. and what's left of the Dancing Tony Empire, more specifically this Saturday Night's Danceteria at Lucky 7's  to DJ's Glitterous & Glamourous. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying free healthcare, along with Hockey and Poutine here in Canada.

If things do work out for the good old USA, we'll be coming back through Rochester, NY on Saturday Night, then continuing back to Jersey City on Sunday. Just in time for this year's Ghost of Uncle Joe's Halloween Fundraiser at the Historic JC and Harsimus Cemetery on Saturday October 26th. Here's the killer line-up for this year :

2:00 Gates | 2:22 Elvis Costello & the Attractions by Otis Ball and SFTKB | 3:30 Rancid by They Live | 4:20 Cream by Aminal | 5:10 Fugazi | 6:00 B-52's by Papermaker  | 6:50 Joy Division 7:40 The Doors| 8:20 Roxy Music by WFMU Hoof and Mouth Slimfonia | 9:10 The Who by the Milwaukees | 10:00 Death March to the Lamp Post

With Special Guest DJ Gorgio - Motor Funker in between sets

Just a scheduling note: in the event of bad weather on Saturday, we'll have the event on Sunday, with Roxy Music and another band playing at the Lamp Post on Saturday Night. If the weather isn't good for Sunday, we will have the vent indoors at Art House Productions at 1 McWilliams Place.
