Thanks to everyone who made it our for the Agitator's show last night at 58, especially DJ Motor Funker for spinning, Prison Pretty for playing and Kayt for pouring that delicious cider. Here are Mike Mac's (4th Street Art and Music Festival) pictures.

Tonight, I am manning the Vinyl Solution at the White Star, I've got Larry from Any Day Parade coming in. Lucky for me, his only real experience is 10 plus years working at Jersey City's only record store, Iris Records . There goes playing both sides of "Working Class Dog" . While I get schooled, Auttie McNaughty, has her first solo DJ gig at O'Connells .and DJ "Soul " George Fernandez is at Love Is The Message (LITM). And Leonard Smalls is with Alex from Kiwi the Child at Lucky Seven's. Kiwi the Child and Copasetic play a Special Saturday Set at Luckys tonight. Tonight, is also the start of the DJ Leonard Small/Lucky Seven Food and Coat Drive. every thursday and saturday nite between 11/14/09 - 12/19/09, any donation from the needs list will get you a 1/2 priced draft or well drink (1 per nite). please help us provide a better holiday season this year to those less fortunate!!please bring non-perishable food items, diapers, dvds or cds (for children), gift cards, etc. full a full list, please go to website.

It's a triple Bill at the Lamppost, the end should end in (with) Destitute NJ, Radio Exiles and Wyldlife who plays early and their first show at the Lamp Post.

Grace Church also is hosting their 20th Annual cathedral Arts Festival. The event is Grace Church’s primary fundraiser, and will help support its religious services and community outreach; among other things, the church offers a senior center and breakfast program providing hot meals on weekends to people in need. Gala admission is $40 in advance, $50 at the door, and a percentage of the sale price of each work of art goes to the church.

PATHS THAT CROSS : Photography Show at 313 Gallery

The work reflects the artists finding their own space in this song to create and reflect. 17 Year Cicada - New Works by Kayt Hester

SAT 08/24 @ 9pm Port-o- Lounge he 17 Year Cicada – New Art Work by Kayt Hester – opens August 24th at Port- O Lounge, one of the handful of downtown Jersey City restaurants/art galleries that, by presenting to new audiences, up & coming and established local artists, are transforming the New York Metropolitan area Art World. As the title of the exhibition suggests, this edition of the yearly Hester Summer Showcase coalesces around the theme of Magicada Cicadas – the species of cicadas that only appear every 17 years. Her more recent work also expands her use of texture and color. Augmenting her black masking tape are new, extraordinary details made of brightly colored, metallic tape. She also has incorporated embroidery to canvases, essentially embedding 21st century needlepoint within her tape illustrations.

58 Gallery Reunion Show

Opening F 6 to 9 pm Mary Benson Galleryey everybody, there once was this place called 58 gallery in dtjc showed some of the best art around by some of the best emerging artist around, it coupled the shows with sounds and visuals "that would create an atmosphere unlike any in nyc" holland cotter ny times...and it did a bunch of other things to strengthen the artist community between 2002-2012. it closed in 2012. some of the pioneers and trendsetters of that time are gathering for the start of this amazing series of shows. stay tuned for more info. www.fifty8.com

The Attic Ensemble Presents

Nov 7 to 18h @ Barrow Mansion | August, 1949. A fascinatingly realistic picture of routine cases brought into a bustling metropolitan police station in the course of an evening. Out of the welter of human misery, vice and foolishness there emerges the moving case of a decent young man who has stolen money from his employer; a hardened criminal dragging his young friend down with him; a lawless NJ "gardener" with a corrupt lawyer; and others. In the throes of the tumult is Detective McLeod -- a man whose black & white vision of justice will be challenged by the woman he loves most: his wife. A cast of 22 men and women will bring this drama of truth and consequences to life on the stage.
